Winter Mushroom Foraging Mushroom-hunting outing on January 9, 2013, with Maurice Gérard! We identified about thirty species, including some interesting ones.
Horned Clavulinopsis I’ve taken a photo of the horned Clavulinopsis (Clavulinopsis corniculata fo. compacta) growing in your lawn alongside the Hygrophorus mushrooms, whose names are as follows: Meadow Hygrophorus (Camarophyllus pratensis) … apricot-colored, fading in places.
Meadow Hydrophore- Sulphur-yellow Hygrophorus (Hygrocybe chlorophana) … the yellow one
Sulphur-yellow Hygrophorus - Cherry-red Hygrophorus (Hygrocybe coccinea) … the red one Parrot Hygrophorus (Hygrocybe psittacina) … the green one
Parrot-shaped water pump - Virginal Hygrophore (Hygrocybe niveus) … the little white one
**These mushrooms are edible! And we made a delicious pan-fried dish with them that evening! Another great find! A large lichen in decline…**It’s Lobaria pulmonaria, a species in decline due to air pollution…The presence of this species shows that the Bourgon Castle site is still well preserved. An interesting little article I found by searching on Google: “LOBILARIA PULMONARIA IS WORTH IT”
