--- RESULT: AGAINST ALL EXPECTATIONS / FAVORABLE OPINION
Dear All, The number of negative public opinions regarding the wind farm project was twice as high as the number of positive ones (from affected farmers or ideological environmentalists—those who support wind power at any cost…). However, contrary to all expectations, the investigating commissioners’ opinion is in favor of the entire project comprising 6 wind turbines.
Their visit to the Château de Bourgon site had led them to expect a negative opinion, but they seemed captivated by the beauty and charm of the site; political pressure was the strongest factor (letters from Jean Arthuis (UDI), the Mayenne Departmental Council, and pressure from environmentalists during the election season…)
The “favorable” opinion seems very “restrained.”
In the end, the argument is: prioritize the “energy transition”—which hasn’t even been approved yet!
No consideration is given to visitors, nor to the “listed” heritage sites that would be disfigured. In that case, what is the point of consulting the public, the ABF, the DREAL, and others—while disregarding local residents, listed monuments, and the landscape?
Will France be covered with wind turbines to serve the private interests of German companies like Abowind? When will we stop subsidizing this form of energy that is harmful to our health, pollutes the earth, and is an eyesore in our landscapes?

These mayors had campaigned in favor of wind farm projects or agreed to the installation of wind turbines in their towns. An environmental disaster that disfigures the landscape, a human and social catastrophe that divides communities, and a poison that taints every aspect of daily life for the public and local residents.

The project for 6 industrial wind turbines, each 150 meters tall
(45-meter blades) in Commer and Martigné would tower over the treetops and mar the view of the castle from its main vantage points.
Visible from the interior rooms, which are open to the public, as well as from the large courtyard—which hosted the Festival des Nuits de la Mayenne last summer—they are said to
a fatal blow
to this beautiful setting. On top of that,
a real threat to the rich biodiversity
that the site harbors, as well as the proven and incessant nuisances for local residents and the irreversible degradation of a bucolic landscape for everyone.
The wind power lobby will stop at nothing
and elected officials or city council members, as well as owners or operators of land where wind turbines are to be installed, are suspected of illegal conflicts of interest, which are the subject of complaints filed with the public prosecutor; investigations are currently underway.Don’t let these people and certain politicians continue to dictate your living conditions and quality of life, devalue your homes, disturb the peace and quiet day and night—let’s not trade our forests for a horizon lined with giant wind turbines, and let’s not allow the historical heritage and landscapes of the Mayenne to be disfigured.
