This iconic site was once owned by the famous Marquise de Sablé.**In 1625, she had a superb “blue cabinet” built there, whose paintings are preserved in remarkable condition. Visitors can admire it year-round during guided tours led by Mr. and Mrs. Ducatillon.
The marquise was one of the “précieuses” during Molière’s time. The choice of the Château de Bourgon as a venue for staging Molière’s plays fits perfectly with the site’s noble and cultural heritage in the 18th century.
