From his passion for drawing and naive art has remained a fascination with figurative art, which he nevertheless prefers to suggest, with a shift toward abstraction that is still somewhat “restrained.” His inspiration often stems from a flash of insight, the emotion of a moment, a situation, or a scene—especially since his discovery of the tropics, where the sensory overload immediately resonated with him, quenching a thirst for vibrancy and color that his native Mayenne landscape—to which he remains deeply attached—could not satisfy.
