A recipient of a First Prize in piano from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris (Master’s degree and Postgraduate Artist Diploma) as well as a concert performer’s diploma from the École Normale Supérieure de Musique, Eric Artz has also won more than 20 national and international competitions (Geneva, Maria Canals, Epinal, etc.).
With the support of the Natexis Foundation, he performs regularly as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles, and with orchestras in France (the Chopin Festival in Nohant, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux…) as well as abroad in Israel (Tel Aviv Opera, Jerusalem…), Germany, Austria (Salzburg), Italy (Rome and Cagliari), and Switzerland in Geneva (Chopin Festival, Radio Suisse-Romande…), in London (Steinway Hall), and in Japan…

Theme of the 2016 European Heritage Days: “Heritage and Citizenship”: an opportunity to explore the iconic sites and monuments where citizenship was forged and where it is practiced every day.
Cultural heritage serves as a defining landmark in time and space. It embodies and symbolizes the evolution of the arts and culture, as well as the ideas that have shaped our history.
Understanding and appreciating our cultural heritage means understanding and appreciating the society in which we live and grasping the values upon which it is built. Cultural heritage, by its very nature, embodies the idea of the common good; as such, it symbolizes the collective identity with which every citizen can identify, regardless of their origins.
What makes each of us a citizen? By offering the opportunity to visit numerous historic and civic sites, the European Heritage Days will provide a practical answer. Being a citizen is a matter of conviction and commitment in all areas: education, the environment, social etiquette, civic-mindedness, and so on…
In France, the European Heritage Days are organized by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. Held under the patronage of the Council of Europe and the European Commission, the event receives support from public and private owners of historic monuments and benefits from the involvement of the Centre des monuments nationaux, the network of Villes et Pays d’art et d’histoire, the Heritage Foundation, and heritage preservation associations that have been involved since the very first edition: Vieilles Maisons Françaises and La Demeure Historique.”
