Sunday, February 6, 4:00 p.m. ARPECAT invites you to a piano concert featuring Giorgi Iuldashevi on Sunday, February 6, at 4:00 p.m. — Giorgi Iuldashevi was born in 1995 in Tbilisi. He began his piano training at the age of 10 with his mother, and later studied with J.
Tkemaladze and Prof. S. Korsantia, at the Music Seminar.
As a teenager, he won numerous prizes in national competitions. At age 12, he made his debut with the National Orchestra in Tbilisi, performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor, K. 466. In 2013, he was invited to give a piano recital for Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia.
He moved to Switzerland in 2014, where he studied music at the Zurich University of the Arts under Prof. Hans-Jürg Strub (2018 Bachelor of Music; 2020 Master’s in Classical Music Education).
The Orpheum Foundation selected Giorgi in 2018 to participate in Maria João Pires’s legendary master classes in Portugal, during which he also performed at the Tonhalle Maag in Zurich.
He received further significant encouragement from Christian Zacharias and Khatia Buniatishvili, who noted that the young man displays “great musical sensitivity, astonishing technical ability, charm, and spirit.”
The Mayenne Piano Competition in France marked his first international success. Since then, he has been invited there every year to give a recital. Giorgi Iuldashevi is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Performance at the Zurich University of the Arts. * Repertoire: His repertoire focuses on solo works, piano concertos, and chamber music from the 19th and 20th centuries. * Awards 2020: Migros Culture Percentage Study Grant 2018: Migros Culture Percentage Study Grant 2016: 3rd prize at the Mayenne International Piano Competition and two special prizes, France 2014: 1st Prize at the “Goldene Taste” Piano Competition, Germany 2013: “Der Stern” Grand Prix at the 11th National “Find Your Star” Competition, Georgia 2012: 2nd prize at the 6th National Classical Music Competition, Georgia 2011: 2nd prize at the 5th Tbilisi International Piano Competition, Georgia Program: - Miniatures by R.
