INTERNATIONAL FOREST DAY

Châtaignier Tricentenaire au château de Bourgon The 300-Year-Old Chestnut Tree at Bourgon Castle

As part of International Forest Day and in partnership with

the Mayenne Association of Private Foresters,

the CRPF Pays de Loire and the Federation

Sunday, March 16: Outing to the Bourgon Forest:

“LET’S EXPLORE THE TRICENTENNIAL, THE FOUR BROTHERS, AND THE TROGNES”

Discovering remarkable trees or trees worth noting in the Bourgon Forest,

but also the identification and management of the various species found there. What is a “trognes” alley? Meet at 2:30 p.m. on the esplanade in front of the castle.

The walk takes about an hour. Be sure to bring boots and rain gear just in case—or sunglasses! To wrap up this fun outing, a drink will be provided at the end of the walk. Feel free to bring cakes or other treats inspired by the forest and wild plants (such as chestnuts, seeds, elderberries, blackberries, etc.). We look forward to seeing you there.
