Shoeing the hooves

Prudence had been developing seimes for some time. A seime is a fissure—a crack of varying severity in the hoof wall. The fissure widens when the hoof bears weight and narrows when the hoof is lifted, causing pinching and bleeding of the compressed tissue.

Although the Percheron is a hardy horse, regular hoof care is essential to the horse’s health. \
