Rally Announcement, May 23, 2014, Bourgon The school rally will take place on Friday, May 23, in the forest and at Bourgon Castle in Montourtier, Mayenne.
We are expecting at least 178 children from CM1 and CM2 classes. On the agenda: exploring the forest and identifying tree species: from the 300-year-old chestnut tree designated “remarkable” to the “Three Brothers” oak grove, via the avenue of pollarded oaks… as well as biodiversity and careers in the wood industry…
For the first time ever, this year there will be a demonstration of logging with horses—it’s sure to captivate the children and… the foresters in attendance. The ATV (Association des Trompes de Villiers-Charlemagne) is also planning a musical performance featuring hunting horns in harmony with the forest. It promises to be an enriching day for everyone!
